Meditation is now becoming more and more popular as the benefits become apparent and health benefits are discovered.

In our busy times its a powerful tool to manage daily stress and wind down from busy-ness. You can use it to increase awareness of yourself and your surroundings.

The benefits list continues, some use it for other beneficial habits and feelings, such as a positive mood and outlook, self-discipline, healthy sleep patterns, and even increased pain tolerance.

There’s no hard rules to mediation, just that you’re away from all distractions in a nice quiet place, conscious of your thoughts.

We thought it’d be good to share with you the top 5 benefits we’ve found from practicing mindful meditation.

1 . Manage Stress

This is the most popular benefit experiences from meditating. The reduction of the stress hormone called cortisol.

In an 8-week study, a meditation style called “mindfulness meditation” reduced the inflammation response caused by stress (1)

2. Control Anxiety

As a result of the reduced stress, meditation and other practices such as yoga and sports may play a role in reducing anxiety as per new research (2)

By removing distraction temporarily each day, it can help us connect with our selves and focus.
